remember??

remember when we had no concept of a schedule?
...
this is probably back in the days when we were 3 yrs old (at the oldest).

⌛ when you went to bed when someone put you there and woke up when the blinds were opened and you were taken out.
⌛ When your parents were your entire existence. they were GOD
⌛ And you even needed them to give you a bath because you didn't know how to wash your own hair.
⌛ you had no concept of weekends or weekdays...you just played all day.
⌛ Some days your mom would put you in a car and take you somewhere full of little kids and a few adults and she'd go away, and you'd be a little nervous at first until you saw your friend or your favorite toy, or until a nice lady came up to you and guided you to a project somewhere. (pre-school)
⌛ you'd play there until she came back and took you home, where you'd play some more.
⌛ Other days, your dad would strap a helmet to your head put you in this bright yellow buggy that he had attached to the back of his bike and take you around for a while.
⌛and just because of your skewed-proportion to every-day objects (made mostly in scale to the adult human body) EVERYTHING was a play structure you could climb on and make a fort out of. including  dinning-table chairs, and the space under the piano...
⌛ You'd spend a kick-ass day here or a rockin' few hours there but really, you never KNEW where you were going, you just WERE. 100%living life in the present because you didnt even know what yesterday and tomorrow were.
⌛ You'd be hanging out, playing with a toy somewhere and someone would come and scoop you up put you in a car seat and take you somewhere else. Sometimes it was really fun and sometimes it really sucked, like when you found yourself at the doctor's office... but in GENERAL...HOW FUN WAS THAT?!?!

⌛ And remember being tired in your parents' arms, and while they talked you could hear their voice through their chest where your head was resting, you could even feel the vibrations of their voice on your face. and you'd fall asleep totally enveloped by them? their unique smell, the softness of their skin, the tickle of their long hair or 5'oclock shadow, the warmth of their body...

I haven't done those things in so long...

  1. Ahhhhh, so true Shayan, and the thing is that we didn't know of the worldly concerns or societal pressures. We just lived. We've got to get back to doing that!
